    YEAR 7 ALLOCATIONS: FRIDAY 1st MARCH 2019

    The national offer day is 1st March 2019 for all applications received by the local authority before 31st October 2018. Please refer to the MK Council website for further details

    Parents willl receive a welcome letter during March. We look forward to welcoming all our new pupils and parents into the Oakgrove School community.

    TIMELINE FOR ADMISSION APPEALS FOR YEAR 7 - SEPTEMBER 2019

    Following national offer day of Friday 1st March 2019, if you named Oakgrove School as one of your preferences and were unsuccessful, you have a right to appeal against the decision to an independent appeal panel.

    Following the initial allocation of places for Year 7 in September 2019, all unsuccessful applicants will be sent a letter providing further details as to why it wasn’t possible to allocate a place.

    The appeals timetable* for Oakgrove School for students transferring to Year 7 in September 2019 will be as follows:

    Friday 29th March 2019 at 3pm - Deadline to request an appeal form

    Tuesday 2nd April 2019 at 3pm - Deadline to lodge an appeal form **

    Monday 13th May 2019 late afternoon - Stage 1 hearing (all appellants are invited to attend)

    Tuesday 14th, Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th May 2019 - Stage 2 individual hearings (precise days/times to be advised by the Clerk)

     

    If you wish to request an appeal please wait for the letter to arrive which will provide you with details regarding how to request the appeal pack. 

     

    * Please note it may not be possible to include within this timetable any appeals that are lodged after the deadline. 

    ** This is the deadline by wich the completed appeal form must be received by the Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel. 

     

    ADMISSION TO OAKGROVE SCHOOL IN YEAR 7 – SEPTEMBER 2018

    Admission to the school is in line with the school’s admission criteria which are published annually.  Admission arrangements for students transferring from primary to secondary school in September are co-ordinated by the Local Authority.  For further details please read Admission Arrangements for Year 7 – September 2018 (see below)

     

    IN-YEAR ADMISSIONS FOR YEARS 7-11 (2018 - 2019)

    In-year admissions refers to applications made at any time after the normal age of transfer at the end of primary school.

    Parent/Carers should be aware that Oakgrove School is an oversubscribed school with more applicants than places available and each year many parent/carers are unsuccessful in their application for a place.  Please note that when a place does become available it is allocated strictly in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria.

    Applications for an in-year admission should be made on an Oakgrove School application form.

    Application for Starting in YEAR (Sept 2018 - 19)

    IN-YEAR ADMISSIONS FOR YEARS 7 - 11 (starting in September 2019) 

    In-year admissions refers to applications made at any time after the normal age of transfer at the end of primary school.

    Parent/Carers should be aware that Oakgrove School is an oversubscribed school with more applicants than places available and each year many parent/carers are unsuccessful in their application for a place.  Please note that when a place does become available it is allocated strictly in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria.

    Applications for an in-year admission should be made on an Oakgrove School application form. Applications for a September 2019 start can be submitted from 23rd April onwards. 

    To complete on a phone/ tablet/ computer the applicant needs to save it on to their device, complete the form and then save the completed form. They can then email the form and any other attachments to [email protected]

    2018 ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR OAKGROVE SCHOOL

    The 2018 admission arrangements were adopted by the Governing Body on 23rd February 2017.  Some amendments were made to the Year 7 and Primary policies in light of comments received during the consultation:

    • the oversubscription criteria for year 7 have been amended;
    • the published admission number for Year R has been reduced from 60 to 50 to incorporate in-year growth.

    2019 ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR OAKGROVE SCHOOL

    The 2019 admission arrangements were adopted by the Governing Body on 22nd February 2018.  A small amendment was made to the Year 7 and Primary policies to correctly reference the application process followed by Milton Keynes Local Authority in managing the co-ordinated scheme.  No further updates were made.

    2020 ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR OAKGROVE SCHOOL

    The 2020 admission arrangements were adopted by the Local Governing Body on 9th October 2018.  No ammendments have been made to these policies.  The policies can be viewed via the links below:

    Oakgrove Secondary defined area

    The defined area for Years 7 - 11 is Middleton, Milton Keynes Village, Oakgrove, Broughton, Broughton Gate, Monkston, Monkston Park, Atterbury, Kingston, Woolstone and Woughton on the Green.

    Oakgrove Primary defined area

    The defined area for Years R - 5 is Oakgrove, Middleton, Milton Keynes Village, Monkston and Monkston Park.
