Welcome to Oakgrove Sixth Form!

Oakgrove's brand new Sixth Form opened in September 2009, marking the final phase in Oakgrove's building project and representing a new and exciting phase of Oakgrove School’s history.

The Sixth Form is housed in a brand new, purpose built block, with facilities that echo the sustainable Eco status and modern whole school environment.  The Sixth Form Building is for the sole use of the Sixth Form students and allows them to socialise in the spacious Common Room as well as work independently in their own large Private Study Centre.

Leading off the Common Room are are the many tutorial rooms specifically designed for smaller Sixth Form classes, these echo the flavour of our individualised and personal touch to the students' Sixth Form studies.

Central to the life of our new Sixth Form is the ethos and sense of every individual’s success and purpose. We want all our students to be happy and thrive in their varied study options. Every student is designated a mentor to ensure they are making the most out of their Sixth Form experience, gaining individual guidance in developing their studies.

A varied enrichment programme has been designed to compliment and develop new interests and life skill opportunities. Students also have an array of out of hours learning opportunities including the Duke Of Edinburgh Award Scheme, local community voluntary action and overseas trips linked to their subject studies. We clearly aim to equip students with a host of key assets and skills for their adult lives and futures.

I am delighted to be involved in this land mark project for Oakgrove School’s future, and our students have every reason to be excited about their new learning journies.  We’re looking forward to welcoming more students next year!
